IBOM 100 MAGAZINE PUBLICATION


The Ibom 100 Publication is a community based and private-driven initiative powered by Black Heritage Publication to annually identify, recognize and celebrate the positive contributions and effort of 100 Akwa Ibom people otherwise known as IBOM 100 who are making significant impact and contribute meaningfully to the society.

The lists of 100 Most Distinguished Personalities in Akwa Ibom State are selected individuals who through their career and individual endeavours have influenced the society positively and will serve as role models to the younger generation. It serves to recognize outstanding individuals who exemplified the best attributes of our state and promote the ideals of unity, justice and peaceful coexistence. It seek to accord recognition to Akwa Ibom people whose dedication to their profession and life undertakings have resulted in exceptional achievements in the form of significant contributions to the progress and welfare of their community and the advancement of their respective field of endeavours and by extension brings pride to the state.
 
It also serves as a platform to encourage the spirit of perseverance in pursuing their life goals and dreams of improving the quality of life and those around them inspite of difficulties and challenges. The IBOM 100 is a means of recognizing and celebrating the 100 Akwa Ibomites who have touched lives positively over the years. Not only have they redefined their lives and governance, but also careers and businesses thereby inspired a new wave of young leaders and influencers.
 
The IBOM 100 are drawn from different field including politics, entertainment, sports, media, business, ecclesiastical, law, arts, humanitarian services, philanthropy, education, leadership and governance.
 
MISSION – The mission is to honour Akwa Ibom men and women who merit recognition and distinction for their exploits, accomplishments and achievements by their deeds which personify the ideals of Akwa Ibom people while telling the world our own stories.
 
VISION – To see a more united, peaceful and progressive Akwa Ibom State where every sons and daughters have equal rights and opportunities as major stakeholders in the Akwa Ibom Project.
 
OBJECTIVES – The cardinal objectives of the Publication are:
 
1. To identify and recognize the effort of Akwa Ibom people who have made significant achievements and contribute positively to the society.
2. To bridge the existing political and ethnic divide among the different sections of our dear state.
3. To promote the good image and identity of Akwa Ibom people at home and the diaspora.
4. To bring our people together to pursue a common goal for the task of State and Nation building.
5. To provide future generation of Akwa Ibom youth with exemplary citizenship role models.
6. To encourage and inculcate the spirit of patriotism, enterprise and greatness among young people of Akwa Ibom origin and promote community service and self-development.
7. To encourage excellence in career and individual endeavours.
8. To promote economic visibility of our state and thereby enhance access to national information and resources.
9. To encourage individual to engage more culturally, socially and economically, and hence act as vanguard for peace, progress and economic advancement.
10. To provide networking with Akwa Ibomites, hence create links among diverse professionals.
 
COMPONENTS OF THE PROJECT
 
The Ibom 100 Publication promises to be an exciting and memorable experience with the following activities:
 
SHARING LIFE EXPERIENCE – An interactive session with some of the Honorees to share their true life experience with the audience.
 
IBOM ANNUAL LECTURE SERIES instituted as part of our commitment to promote unity, justice, peaceful coexistence and good governance among our people in line with the ideals of our founding fathers. The inaugural lecture with the topic: AKWA IBOM STATE OF OUR DREAM: LAYING A SOLID FOUNDATION FOR THE NEXT GENERATION will be delivered by Barr. Francis Ekwere, former 1st Vice President of Nigeria Bar Association.
 
IBOM UNITY ART PIECE – The Ibom Unity Art Piece is dedicated to rebuild a new Akwa Ibom State of our dream where every sons and daughters have equal rights and opportunities in the Akwa Ibom Project. The governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency, Deacon Udom Emmanuel is billed to unveil the Portrait at the event.
 
MAGAZINE LAUNCH – The event will witness the unveiling and launching of the IBOM 100 Magazine profiling the 100 selected individuals for the Maiden publication.
 
IBOM UNITY DOCUMENTARY – A documentary of Akwa Ibom Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow: The Journey So Far featuring interview with selected individuals.
 
CERTIFICATE/MEDAL – The selected 100 individuals will be presented with Certificate of Honour and Medal. Also, there will be presentation of Ibom Future Leaders Award to 100 children as Akwa Ibom Future Leaders and Ambassadors.
 
Other highlights of the event include Red Carpet, Drama, Comedy and Cultural display.

EKPO NTA – FORMER CHAIRMAN, INDEPENDENT CORRUPT PRACTICES AND OTHER RELATED OFFENCES COMMISSION (ICPC) Ekpo Una Owo Nta is a lawyer and former Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) . Ekpo Una Owo Nta was born in Ndukpoise, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State on 12 October 1952. SEN. EFFIONG BOB – FORMER PRO-CHANCELLOR & CHAIRMAN OF COUNCIL, UNIVERSITY OF BENIN Effiong Dickson Bob was born on 1 st October 1959, he is from Ikot Ekwere, Nsit Ubium local government area in Akwa Ibom State, and also the Pro Chancellor of the University of Benin.
