AKS INFO BOSS Ememobong CHARGES NUJ ON INTERPRETATION OF AKWA IBOM DREAM



Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Barr Ini Ememobong has charged the State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, to interpret the Akwa Ibom dream to the wider world.

Barr Ini Ememobong gave the charge early today, Thursday 6th August, 2020, while playing host to the leadership of the state  of the NUJ led by the State Chairman, Comrade Amos Etuk in the Conference room of the Ministry of Information and Strategy, Block 2, Idongesit Nkanga Secretariat Complex, Uyo.

The State Spokesman who said the Akwa Ibom Dream is well enunciated in the Dakkada Creed of Governor Udom Emmanuel, implored the journalists to interpret the Akwa Ibom  Dream which depicts the values, yearnings and expectations of the progenitors of the State at creation through their reportage.

He emphasized that, every Akwa Ibom child should be given the right mentorship, direction and Counseling as they grow on the values and expectations of the Akwa Ibom Project which Governor Udom Emmanuel is championing adding that this can best be done through public awareness and enlightenment through positive reportage by members of the State NUJ.

While appreciating the leadership of NUJ for being the first group to pay him a courtesy call and for the gift of water presented to him and indeed the entire Ministry the Information helmsman pledged his partnership and support to NUJ at all times.

The Chairman of the State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Comrade Amos Etuk said, the journalists had to ensure that they were the first to pay homage to the Commissioner of Information and Strategy because of the unprecedented visit to the State NUJ by the Commissioner barely 24 hours after his swearing into office by Governor Udom Emmanuel.

Comrade Amos Etuk enlisted the achievements of the Union under his leadership within his one year in office and solicited for the review of the government approved Health Insurance Scheme for journalists in the State, approval of the 22% way rope allowance for journalists in government employ, support for NAWOJ delegates conference and attendance at the August 21st NUJ congress, among others.

Highlight of the event was the presentation of specialized facemasks to NUJ by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, the presentation of invitation letter to the state congress to the Commissioner by the Chairman of NUJ, Comrade Amos Etuk and presentation of water to the Commissioner by all the chapels of NUJ through the Vice Chairman of NUJ, Mrs. Nene Afia. 

Present at the courtesy visit were the  Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Inyang Jameson, Directors of the Ministry, Executives of the state NUJ including the Vice Chairman, Mrs. Nene Afia, the Secretary, Mr. Dominic Akpan and the State Chairman of NAWOJ, Mrs Uduak Ekong, among others.
